How to Call a Taxi in Korea as a Visitor

Start with a traveler-friendly taxi option, save the destination in Korean and keep a street-hail or hotel-desk fallback.

1

1. Pick the lowest-friction option

For most short-term visitors, start with a taxi service designed for international travelers. If you already have a working Korean account, local taxi apps can be useful too.

2

2. Save the destination before you move

Keep the hotel or venue name and address in Korean. It is useful when search fails or the driver asks to confirm the destination.

3

3. Check the pickup point

Large stations, malls and airports can have multiple pickup zones. Confirm the exact entrance or taxi stand instead of only the building name.

4

4. Keep a fallback

If the app fails, ask the hotel or venue desk to call a taxi, or use an official taxi stand. Do not let one app become your only option.

Keep in mind

App rules, payment flows and transport details can change. Use this as a practical starting point and confirm critical details before you travel.
